I was excited about photography for the first time when I received my instamatic camera for Christmas when I was 6 years old. I took pictures of everything, even my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary… that was the start of my photography career.
I truly fell in love with photography after my high school photography class when we learned how to work in a darkroom. It was a magical moment to see the images start to develop. It was a turning point in my life. I went to BOCES, now called Nassau Tech, for commercial photography. I knew that there was nothing else I wanted to do in life.
I started my professional career in a professional photo lab. I met the most fantastic people; other photographers and professional photo finishers who changed my life forever and some are still my friends today.
To relax I love to go hiking and photograph nature anywhere, but if I had to pick my favorite place it would be: Maine. My husband and I love taking the kids camping and hiking at Acadia National Park. We love the outdoors and enjoy the wildlife and looking at all of the beautiful landscapes. For me, I love seeing the beauty of life through photography.
Joining Women Sharing Art is exciting to me because I love seeing other artists with passion for art in different mediums. It became clear to me why I joined WSA when a wonderful artist didn’t enter a portrait because she had doubts about it. Another artist from WSA encouraged her to enter the piece in the art show. They inspire and encourage everyone and lift them up by believing in them and helping them believe in themselves. I am proud to be…Women Sharing Art.
