Karen Miller O’Keefe



Karen (Kay) Miller O’Keefe has been involved with photography for many years and has shown her work at shows and art galleries in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island where she has been awarded commendations. She recently had a solo show at Briarcliffe College in Patchogue.

She enjoys compositions from nature that include Long Island seascapes and landscapes throughout Vermont, Pennsylvania and Mohonk Mountain. Through her travels she enjoys taking photographs of cultural subjects such as Native American dancers and blues and rock musicians. Ms. O’Keefe is intrigued by water and the way it flows and its reflections. She has put together a 9/11 memorial series that is shown every year.

Kay has been involved with mentoring clients from the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center and coordinated two art shows for the client gallery at the Center. She is a member of Women Sharing Art, Inc., Brookhaven Arts and Humanties Council, North Shore Art Guild and the The South Bay Art Association.
