I am a retired High School Art teacher and have enjoyed teaching my students the love of art for 32 years. Now, I am enjoying my newly found free time to create my own “masterpieces”. My greatest joy is fulfilling my passion to further my artistic accomplishments. I have a Masters in Photography, but in the last 4 years I have discovered the joy of Warm Glass Art, where I create scenic wall hangings and decorative, functional plates.
I have always loved to do art since I was a little girl, starting when my Mom drew her own coloring book pictures for me. Each year in school, I couldn’t wait to learn a new technique in my art classes. After I took my first Warm Glass class, I was hooked! This exciting process was fascinating and magical to me! I also enjoy Photographing landscapes, so I bring those compositions to my scenic designs. Many of my compositions are influenced by fond memories of visiting my grandparents’s upstate farm.
“When I create, the world around me disappears and becomes quiet, where time passes into tranquility. I am one with my work, and the peaceful energy I feel can be found I’m my creations.”
I am a member of the Long Island Craft Guild, and honored to now be a member of “Women Sharing Art”. I have displayed my work at the Phoenix Gallery in Bellport, BAFFA, LICG shows at the Jericho Library, Harborfields Library, Oyster Bay Historical Society Museum, and the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery at the Art League of Long Island.
