Art Glass, Mosaics, Printmaking
About My Work:
Printmaking and Art Glass Mosaics are my two primary mediums. I create images by cutting art glass and assembling the pieces in a mosaic technique as a way of ‘painting with glass’. This medium requires a slow and deliberate process. It‘s in contrast to my printmaking where images can be captured in a more free-flowing process. This is particularly true with monoprint work.
While these two mediums may seem disparate, they both evoke what I want to express by creating a ‘depth of feeling’. With the glass, I assemble parts to a whole and layer the glass. My monoprints are usually created through many layers of ink to create a whole image. Lately I’ve become interested in finding ways to combine both mediums in one piece.
