I AM! at IAM
Shared on February 1, 2020
The members of Women Sharing Art were tasked by the Islip Art Museum in 2019 to create art around the theme of the 100th Anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. It reads: “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.”
The Islip Art Museum and the Islip Arts Council have created events during the two months of the exhibition:
Women’s Rights and Small Bites: February 12 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Tea @ 3 in the Gallery: February 27 from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Artist Opening Reception: Match 7 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm . This reception is the annual Scholarship Fundraiser of Women Sharing Art, raffle tickets will be sold that evening and prizes pulled, winners need not be present to win. Ask a member for raffle tickets!
Closing Reception with Music & More: March 28, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
