Women Sharing Art, Inc Take First and Second Place Awards at Sayville’s Summerfest Art Show On Main Street

This was the premiere show of Women Sharing Art, Inc. at an outdoor event. “Women Sharing Art”….What a great concept. The enthusiasm and excitement was palpable. There they were at 6:30AM setting up 4 tents in front of Starbucks. The end result of the set up was most impressive. The media represented by the women was Photography, Oils and Acrylics, Watercolor, Fiber Art, Mosaics, Art Glass and Culinary Art.

It was quite clear as the day progressed that these women are passionate about their creative talents, and are very supportive of each other. This was evident when Victoria Beckert was awarded first place for her Watercolors, Shelley Bartlett was awarded second place for Oils and Acrylics and Sandy Seff was awarded second place for Graphics.

Their first venture at an outdoor event and 3 awards! Very impressive indeed.

Traveling through the rest of the show, one could hear the positive rumblings of other women commenting on the Women Sharing Art Exhibit. “Did you take one of their pamphlets?”. ” We should consider becoming an Associate Member”. “I’m going to check out their website as soon as I get home.”

Even though the heat and rain depleted some of the traffic and some of the Exhibitors, Women Sharing Art worked seamlessly to break down when they had to and leave one tent up representing the group…. Art Glass by Sandy and Kathy Seff, Fiber by Ellen Cremer and Mosaics by Libby Hintz.

These women define the meaning of Sharing, Support and Teamwork.
So, at the end of the day one could say…..Ladies, you have arrived!!!

Women Sharing Art, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization founded in May 2008 by a group of local Long Island women who possessed a burning desire to “Share Energy and Explore Artistic Passions.” Sue Miller had a “vision in her heart” to establish an artistic forum for women of all ages and backgrounds to come together and explore and share their “inner artists.”
Thus, “Women Sharing Art” has now become a reality.
